2010 Jack Frost Calendar

November-December—Super Sized Card Project:  Businesses and residents are welcome to decorate their own super sized Christmas cards using a winter or Christmas theme.  Pick up your plywood from the Western U.P. Convention & Visitors Bureau (located on E. Cloverland Drive ) and decorate a card for your yard or business, 906/364-5948

November-December—WIMI/WJMS Radio is sponsoring a business window decorating contest, 906/932-2411

November-December 3—Jack Frost $10,000 Raffle, (maximum of 200 tickets sold) available at the Ironwood Chamber office, 906/932-1122 or Hitt’s Fine Furniture, 906/932-4400

November-December 3—Ironwood Area Business & Professional Women’s Club 50/50 Raffle ticket sales ($1.00).  Available at Guardian Title , Joki, Makela, Pollack, Ahonen Accounting, Chief Oil or from any IABPW member. Drawing held after the Jack Frost parade at Chief Oil , Aurora St. , Ironwood

November-December 3—Storybook Collection (new or gently used books).  Drop off sites:  TBA   Books will benefit local organizations that work with children

November 19—Community Tree Lighting Ceremony, 4 p.m., Pocket Park, Downtown Ironwood, 906/932-5050

November 20—Gingerbread House Workshop, Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, Ironwood, 1-3 p.m.. 906/364-0992.  Houses will be displayed at River Valley Bank

December 1—Official opening of Western U.P. snowmobile trails (weather permitting).  Permits available at the Ironwood Chamber office ($35). Located on Trail #2, downtown Ironwood

December 3—Live broadcast, 9 a.m.-Noon with Chuck Gervasio, WUPM Radio, at Hitt’s Fine Furniture.  Listen in for all the latest festival and parade information

December 3—Jack Frost Festival of Lights Parade, 6:00 p.m., Downtown Ironwood, Live on Charter Communications with hosts, Chuck Gervasio & Laura Keller

December 3—Gogebic Range Band Concert, after Jack Frost parade, Ironwood Memorial Building

December 3—Jack Frost $10,000 drawing, tickets: $100.00 (max. 200 sold) available at the Chamber office, 906/932-1122

December 3—Visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus and Jack Frost at Candy Cane Court (River Valley Bank) after the parade

December 3—Jack Frost Story Time, Ironwood Carnegie Library, 5 p.m., 906/932-0203

December 3—Knights of Columbus Christmas Tree Sale Fundraiser, 330 Scott St. , Ironwood, MI., Sale continues until sold out.

December 5—Annual Hot Cocoa Crafts, All Saints Catholic Academy (in gym), 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., 906/932-0174 (note:  Visit Santa from 11 a.m.-1:00 p.m.)
